Hi all,
I was inspired by my friend Tati's green lemonade recipe. My allergies were kicking in with the change of weather this week, so I was looking for a good cleanser. The green lemonade is an amazer cleanser, energizer and good for the immune system. I have adapted it a bit to give it even more of a kickin' lemony taste, energizing and detoxifying effect.
Please note this is not a smoothie, but a green juice. I believe it belongs here since it's a first cousin to a green smoothie ;-)
Ingredients:
3 apples (peel and core) - I used pink lady because I like tart apples
2 lemons (peel)
1 knob of ginger (peel - i used a big knob)
1 clove of garlic (peel - i used a huge clove - basically 2 normal size)
1 bunch of romaine lettuce (the whole thing minus the thick bottom)
1/2 bunch of kale or collards (remove the middle stem of kale/collards before juicing)
Juice these ingredients up.
Once you have the juice, add a dropper full of marine phytoplankton - this is where the "electric" comes from! (I used 3 if you want to supercharge)
You will end up with about 16 oz - you can divide up and drink a bit in the morning, afternoon and evening.
Enjoy!
Amy
Yummy looks tasty!
