Mom's Birthday Smoothie

Today is my Mom's birthday and even though she is no longer with us, I like to celebrate as I know she would like that ;-)  She would be 69 today ...

I returned from Costa Rica about a week ago - I was there attending the Nosara Yoga Institute's Yoga Teacher 200 training.  It was an amazing experience!  One of the things I loved about being in Costa Rica was the wonderful fresh fruit - I ate yummy mango, pineapple and bananas every day.

So, I thought I would create a special smoothie (Costa Rican style) and dedicate it to my Mom for her birthday - she always loved warm places!

Mom's Birthday Smoothie

1 cup pineapple
1/2 mango
1 banana
1 1/2 cup coconut water
1 dropper of marine phytoplankton (omegas, B's, complete protein)
1 tsp maca powder
& add lots of love as you blend :-)

Scrumptious green smoothie

HI All,

Gotta love the spring time!  Green smoothies are perfect this time of year ... so detoxing .... I just made a delightful concoction that I wanted to share.

1 very large handful of spinach (if you buy in a bunch - it's the whole thing)
1 banana
1 peach
1 small mango
1 handful of blueberries
2 cups of coconut water
2 tablespoons of hemp seed

YUMMMY!   and, I do mean yummmmmmy ..... mmmmmmmmm ..........

AmyA's Challenge - "Get Out the Vote" - Day 44!

Welcome to Day 44 of the Challenge --- our last day!

Congratulations for sticking with the challenge!  What a historical day - the last day of the green smoothie challenge & election day ;-)  I thought it was quite appropriate to call our last green smoothie, "Get Out the Vote."

Today's ingredients include: 1 mango, 1/2 banana, 1 sm handful of cranberries, 1 sm handful of pomgranate seeds, 1 sm knob of ginger, 1 large handful (1 head) of escarole, 2 tsps of maca, 2 tablespoons flax seed & 3 cups water.

This smoothie is packed with energy, loaded with fiber, will help fight stress and keep us all going this election day!

Today's green smoothie ingredients include: 1 small head of green leafy lettuce,1 small handful of kale,  1 large mango, 1 pink grapefruit, 1 peach,  2 tablespoons hemp seed, 1/4 tsp turmeric & 1 cup of water. 

This smoothie is again bursting with energy, loaded with antioxidants, will help complexion, stress and  & has anti-inflammatory/anti-bacterial properties.

I'm back!  India blew me away -- see the video for details!  Today's green smoothie ingredients include: 1 knob of ginger, 1 pink grapefruit,  1/2 pineapple, 1 orange, 1 large handful of kale, 2 tablespoons flax seed, 2 tsp maca, 1 tablespoon raw honey, 1 dash of tumeric (added after the video) & 1 cup of water. 

This smoothie is packed with energy, supports the immune system, digestion, cleansing & has anti-inflammatory properties.
