One of my guiding principles is to use healthy ingredients and balance them with lower calories and carbs while creating delicious alternatives to everyday drinks. I will aim to use whole organic products in their natural state, though that may not always be possible -- so, from time to time I will need to integrate frozen fruits due to limited availability.
I plan on getting very creative, so I will add pumpkin, squash, cranberries, lots of different spices, etc. I may decide to slightly steam or cook to help in the blending process – we’ll see. And, I may add powderered Maca Root and other ingredients like that from time to time.
Every Sunday, I will try to post a list of ingredients that I’ll likely use the following week – but, as I’m a free spirit, I may modify mid-stream. This is important as you make your green smoothies since it allows you to live in the moment and play around with the ingredients … just like cooking. If you decide to join me on this journey, you may want to plan to be a few days behind on the recipes to keep yourself sane ;-)
